I am so thankful teletherapy has given me a way to continue therapy with my kiddos/families. It is so important to me that I continue to support these families and children during such a challenging time. Seeing the excitement on each of my patient’s faces gives me so much joy.

- Morgan Coker, M.S., CCC-SLP

The adoption of telehealth and teletherapy has shifted into hyper-drive over the past month due to the unforeseeable challenges of COVID-19. It is not lost on us how hard this has been on everyone and we want you to know that (1) we are to help and (2) will continue to provide our essential therapy services in all forms to meet the needs of our patients and families. We pride ourselves in the top-notch out-patient care we provide throughout our 14 clinics, however, we are no stranger to providing these same services (Speech, OT, PT, and ABA) via telehealth. In fact, we’ve provided these types of therapy services to meet the needs of those incapable of commuting to our facilities for quite some time now, allowing us to be well prepared for the increased need of current times.

I actually feel a lot closer to some of my families now, I feel that the families are often much more comfortable using their own supplies and being in their own environment to try the things I ask of them.

- Alexandra Koreivo, MS, OTR/L

In this temporary new normal we’ve taken advanced precautionary measures to not only ensure the safety of those who continue to frequent our clinics, but are doing our utmost to ensure that our patients do not experience regression in their essential therapy needs. This was and will always be our TOP priority. As our therapists continue to treat patients virtually and in their homes, they too are learning more about their craft (i.e. how they can better communicate the effectiveness of their therapy approach, having firsthand experiences with their patients in their natural environments) and are seeing a great response despite these challenging times.

I enjoy guiding the parent and making them become more successful with communicating with their child…and seeing {their} reaction when they are able to successfully master a goal at home.

- Whitney Phelps, M.S., CCC-SLP

Teletherapy has proven to be a great resource in helping bridge the gap between therapists and families now more than ever. Allowing therapists and Registered Behavior Technicians into the homes of patients has provided parents and caregivers a better understanding of how effective our therapy treatments can be for their child, and has started numerous conversations on resourcefulness and practicality while continuing to influence therapy learned behaviors at home.

Teletherapy has been a great opportunity for me to see firsthand how parents are interacting with their kids, what toys/activities they utilize on a daily basis, and how they are able to redirect with behavior difficulties.

- Katie Garza, M.S., CCC-SLP

As we continue to monitor and follow the current happenings of COVID-19, we will remain diligent about maintaining the health of our patients, families and employees. Thank you for putting your trust in us and allowing us to provide quality care to your child. We will continue to work to provide the necessary medical care your child needs and deserves.
